What is Polyurethane Rubber?
Polyurethane rubber is a two component system (basic plus curative; A+B) covering a wide range of applications at a relatively low cost. They are available to make molds that are poured, brushed or sprayed onto models.
What are the advantages of using Polyurethane Rubber?
- Polyurethane rubber is easy to use, with many having simple mix ratios by volume (ie 1A:1B) – no scaling required.
- Flexible Polyurethane Rubber is available in a wide range of hardnesses from gel-like to tougher than car tires and everything in between.
- Polyurethane rubber has a relatively low viscosity and is self-contained – no vacuum gas removal is required.
- Polyurethane rubber has good abrasion resistance and is used for casting abrasive materials such as concrete.
- Polyurethane rubber is cheaper than silicone and polysulfide.
